The following is a brief speech I gave at IHM School’s graduation this past Sunday. Readers should know that our school in rural New Hampshire is very small. We had two graduates this year.
Over the last eighteen months, we have all been witnesses to, and, to some degree, victims of, one of the greatest PSYOPs in human history. I speak, of course, of the Covid-19 fiasco, which I know we are all quite sick of, but which I will consider now for one reason only: It gives us, if we are willing to pay attention, some valuable insights into reality as distinguished from the dystopian fantasy that is presented as reality by the currently dominant enemies of God and man.
By the end of my time at the podium, I hope to have pointed out the direct relevance of these warring agendas to our graduates’ lives.
Now that the wheels appear to be falling off the whole wicked endeavor of this so-called pandemic — thanks in part to the release of Dr. Anthony Fauci’s revealing emails — what some of us already knew about the origins of this pathogen is coming to light. We can therefore take stock of some of the truly unnecessary and malign things that have happened in the last year and a half. Among other things, this twisted fantasy has made possible the death of vulnerable residents of retirement facilities at the hands of villains like the fake Catholic and pro-abortion bully, Andrew Cuomo, who governs the State of New York as his own little Mafia fiefdom. It has also made possible mass lock-downs of the global populace by a malevolent and inept governing class. (LOCK-DOWNS — there is an interesting word we might ponder for a few seconds: it comes to us from the prison lexicon. Lockdowns are imposed on prisoners when they have been too uppity and they all get sent back to their cells by the warden to be locked down and not allowed to socialize. They are, after all, prisoners. Well, apparently the enforcers of the mass lock-downs of humanity think that we are all their prisoners.) The Covid-fantasy has also allowed the imposition of useless and harmful mask-mandates that have forced most of our citizenry to cover a sizable portion of that part of their anatomy that makes them most recognizable to other humans. Further, the false narrative has made us men, who are social creatures, to be “socially-distanced” from one another and, thereby, further atomized and alienated, leading to terrible upticks in things like suicide, substance abuse, and domestic violence. Finally, among the myriad other unnatural, harmful, dehumanizing, and otherwise stupid things this dystopian nightmare has facilitated, I will include this last one, which is now really only still in its early stages: The production and imposition of experimental, harmful, and at least sometimes deadly gene-editing so-called “vaccines” upon the global populace, no doubt in an effort to achieve what these monsters want to achieve all along, namely, population control.
How is it that most of our fellow citizens have gone along with this agenda as docile denizens of the dystopian new world order? That’s easy. They have “followed the science” — that is, thanks to the propaganda mouthpieces of the mainstream media and Big Tech (to which they are all attached by a sort of matrix-cable), our fellow Americans and other global citizens have imbibed the fake science of Dr. Fauci and the cabal of elites he works for at your expense. Those elites form an interlocking directorate of globalists, Big-Staters, representatives of the pharmaceutical-industrial complex, Big Tech executives, and other stakeholders in the Global Reset too many to name. You might say, for brevity’s sake, that their name is Legion.
But how was this made possible — this “follow the science mantra” that has mesmerized so much of the world?
Before I reply to that, let me introduce a German word that is very useful. It’s the kind of word that can make you sound urbane and sophisticated at a cocktail party if you use it at just the right time. The word is Weltanschauung, and it literally means “world-view.” The handy-dandy Dictionary.com defines Weltanschauung as “a comprehensive conception or image of the universe and of humanity’s relation to it.” You might say it is the lens through which someone views all of reality, from the Ultimate Reality down to the smallest details of life. There are any number of Weltanschauungen in the world, but perhaps the dominant one today is what we call the Cartesian-Newtonian-Darwinian worldview, an outlook that places man in a universe not created by God, but one that resulted from the chance brute forces of nature acting blindly for billions and billions of years. This worldview comes from the so-called “Enlightenment.” In it, the empirical sciences of biology, chemistry, physics, and the like have dethroned theology and even sound philosophy in the hierarchy of wisdom. In this world-view, things began with atoms smashing into each other randomly in the void; then living things just happened by chance; and, eventually, man appeared on the stage. Then, somehow, we evolved to having Joe Biden in the White House. Conveniently ignored here are such nagging questions as how did we go from nothing existing to something existing, and how did we go from non-life to living things. Given enough time and random atom slamming, apparently anything is possible — which suggests that this Weltanschauung requires of its adherents an intense and irrational faith. In this world-view, there is no creation, no providence, no God, and no grace. There is only chance and evolutionary processes. Man was not created by a benevolent God to know, love, and serve Him, but just happened — he was somehow belched out of the primordial soup with no purpose and no destiny.
And, in this world-view, the only redemption is the domination that we can impose on the world through science. In the place of God, we have a whole pantheon of scientistic elites who will help us to achieve their ideals of human flourishing which are currently being marketed by a burlesque James Bond villain named Klaus Schwaub as the “Great Reset” and the “Fourth Industrial Revolution” — both of which are simply pompous names for a global, socialist new world order.
These folks have given us a new priestly caste in the persons of the white-lab-coat vested scientific guru who is paid to impose this toxic Weltanschauung on the world, from little children all the way up to seniors glued to the television set in those homes where autocrats like Andrew Cuomo can kill them. So, people like “Bill Nye the Science Guy” — or the lying, scheming Dr. Anthony Fauci with his cynical emails, his flip-flopping advice, and his unearned celebrity — are now the anointed experts who lecture us all about what constitutes Ultimate Reality.
Worse yet, thanks to the crisis in the Church, many in our sacred hierarchy have embraced some of the most — figuratively and literally — toxic aspects of this corrosive worldview and have, thereby, undermined their own faith and morals — along with those of many of the laity who are exposed to their noxious preaching.
By contrast, our Weltanschauung tells us that God the Father Almighty created heaven and earth, that God the Son redeemed fallen man and works in human history through the Church to save us from hell and bring us to heaven, and that God the Holy Ghost sanctifies the souls of all those who have accepted Jesus Christ and the Gospel He continues to preach throughout the ages in the Church. Our worldview embraces God’s providence and tells us that far from being merely chance products of the brute forces of nature which will eventually kill him, man is a rational being called to a supernatural end by knowing, loving, and serving the Blessed and Eternal Trinity. Our world-view embraces both faith and reason and subjects the sound data of the empirical sciences to common-sense, traditional cosmological wisdom, logic, metaphysics, and the supernaturally revealed truths that God imparts to us through Scripture and Tradition as taught us by the only infallible teacher of mankind: the Catholic Church. Our world-view includes the Seven Sacraments, the Six Days of Creation, the Five Wounds of Christ, the Four Cardinal Virtues, the Three Theological Virtues, the Two Natures in Christ, and the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. Call it, if you will, the higher math. Our Weltanschauung, in brief, is Catholic.
In addition to imparting to our students knowledge of the particular academic subjects in our curriculum, we strive here at IHM School to help our students to learn how to think, and we also strive to cultivate in them this wholesome, supernatural, and traditional Catholic world-view. I am proud to say that I can report a very specific metric of our success in doing so with our two graduates today. Both of these young men you see before you were destined to go to a certain unnamed college of the trades from which one of our alumni graduated not too long ago. When that institution showed that it was going along with the Weltanschauung of the lunatics in white lab coats and was requiring its students to be injected with an unethically sourced, unnecessary, and experimental gene therapy, they both sought religious exemptions from this unnamed institution. When they were both refused the exemptions, they made the leap of faith and abandoned their full scholarships to a college known for its stunningly successful record of job placement in the skilled trades. Our boys, in refusing the jab without second thoughts, manfully slapped away the proffered Kool-Aid of the New Normal. Perhaps without explicitly intending to, they have told Dr. Fauci, Bill Gates, Klaus Shwaub, and all the other real-life Bond villains to get lost. The trust that they are showing in God here is admirable, and I tip my capuche to them for their prudence and fortitude. I have no doubt that God will reward them and that neither of these young men will regret their decision.
As for their future, I will offer them the sage advice of the first of Christ’s Vicars, Saint Peter, who tells us in the Epistle the Church presents us today: “Beloved: Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in the time of visitation; cast all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares for you. Be sober, be watchful! For your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, goes about seeking someone to devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same suffering befalls your brethren all over the world. But the God of all grace, Who has called us unto His eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself, after we have suffered a little while, perfect, strengthen and establish us. To Him is the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
Lastly, I will paraphrase the Collect from today and offer it as my wish for Jerome and Richard: “May God, the protector of all who hope in Him, without Whom nothing is strong, nothing holy, increase His mercy toward you, that, with His guidance and direction you may so pass through the things of this temporal life as not to lose those of life eternal.”
