After Eighty Years, Abuse Victim Allows a Good Priest and God’s Grace to Heal His Wounded Soul

It is encouraging to read a story like this. Compared to some of the more horrific stories of clerical abuse this one was a one time occurrence for the victim, but bad enough to split his own family and cause him to leave the Church when only eight years old. Now he has returned to the sacraments. He would, no doubt, be happy to know of a Latin Mass near his home, as this is the Mass he fondly remembers from his childhood.

The Louisville native has reconciled with the Roman Catholic Church after being away from it for more than 80 years. In the end, O’Bryan reconciled with the church because of the actions of a priest — the same reason he said he left in the first place. Read full story here.
