Anti-Communists Have No Voice in Cuba

Unless there is an uprising to overthrow the Castros, Cuba will continue down the path of anti-Catholic tyranny and repression. Jails will continue to be filled with dissidents who are often victims of torture, threats to family, and blackmail. Politically, there is no hope for Cuba. Only Our Lady of Charity can save the poor country from becoming another little China or North Korea. Raul Castro’s only son, Alejandro, is a diehard Communist ideologue and, as the current head of National Security and chief adviser to his father, will most likely succeed him as president. Raul’s daughter, Mariela, is a sex education fanatic and primary leader in the cause for the LGBT agenda of moral corruption, especially of the youth. A woman obsessed with sex, Ms Castro has written nine books on the subject and thirteen articles for her own  journal Sexología y Sociedad, a magazine of Sexology. Clearly, the Castros and all Stalinists must be ousted from power if Cuba is to live again and be free.

Robert Royal has an excellent article on his The Catholic Thing website in which he demonstrates that policies of compromise with Communists, such as the Castros, may gain some minor “space” for the Church but will do far more harm for the religious morale of the victims who are still languishing in prisons or exiled to far flung outposts:

The Catholic Thing: Pope Benedict XVI arrived in Cuba Monday. I did not. I was scheduled to travel with a group from the Archdiocese of Miami. An archdiocesan employee called shortly before departure to say that the Cuban government refused me a visa.

This is not the first time. In 1998, when John Paul II came, the Cubans kept me waiting at Kennedy Airport while Cardinal O’Connor’s plane was about to take off. At the last minute, they relented. Unfortunately – for them – I gave an interview in the meantime to a television reporter about their repressive regime. It was broadcast when we were already in the air. Read full article here.
