What insanity! The men cannot be validly ordained either in the Anglican rite, and even if they could, to have such an ordination in a Catholic church would be sacrilegious.
Catholic Culture reports: Under pressure from the Vatican, an Australian diocese has withdrawn permission for the use of a Catholic parish church for a ceremony at which 7 deacons– 4 of them women– would have been ordained for ministry in the Anglican church. Bishop Joseph Grech of Sandhurst said that after consulting with the apostolic nuncio in Australia, Archbishop Giuseppe Lazzarotto, said that it would be “best for both churches” if the ordinations did not take place in a Catholic parish. He cited the differences between Catholic and Anglican positions on the ordination of women as a potential source of confusion and conflict.
The ordination ceremony had been tentatively scheduled in St. Kilian’s parish because the local Anglican cathedral is closed for renovations. Link here.
