Now Arizona can have the Super Bowl in 2015. Sponsors of the Super Bowl, such as the Marriot, Apple, American Airlines, the Hispanic National Bar Association, lobbied against the religious rights bill. So did Major League Baseball. And so did Senator John McCain.
Catholic Culture: Following intense pressure from gay advocacy organizations and some political and business leaders, Gov. Jan Brewer of Arizona vetoed a bill that would have expanded religious freedom protections in the state.
The bill would have extended religious freedom protections to every “individual, association, partnership, corporation, church, religious assembly or institution, estate, trust, foundation or other legal entity” where current law mentions only “a religious assembly or institution.” More on this here.
