Blacks Exploited by Calvinist Prosperity Preachers

Pardon the Protestant source, but the message is true. Whatever happened to the Josephites, Saint Katherine Drexel’s Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, and the Knights of Saint Peter Claver? The Catholic mission to Black Americans is dead, a mere social enterprise. So, charlatans, like Creflo Dollar (no joke, that’s the name he uses as a televangelist), take to their pulpit and rant on to their audiences to take control, have faith, you are called to be rich and have a cadillac, or two, if you really believe. That is a sign of faith! And the hyped-up congregation shouts Amen and goes home to face reality. What cruelty! What liars! What abusers, feeding on the gullibility of the downtrodden. Where there is no sound Catholic doctrine, the people will perish.

Christian Post: While hearing commentators critique pastors who preach for gain, viewers see images play across the screen of Creflo Dollar collecting cash at the pulpit, Eddie Long staring wide-eyed at a fistful of bills placed in his hands, and T.D. Jakes welcoming Tyler Perry’s hands-on prayer and million-dollar donation. There are no explicit accusations made or evidence presented to show whether these mega-pastors are indeed among the targeted corrupt crop of prosperity preachers pillaging the Black Church. The viewer is left to assume, whether rightly or wrongly, that these men have grown fat from fleecing their flocks, and are emblematic of what is ailing the traditional Black Church. More here.
