Yes, you read that right. So objecting to Israel’s occupation of Palestine and its building of hundreds of thousands of settlements on land stolen from its neighbor could bring on a curse from God for the USA. God may well punish America for many other sins — abortion, assault on marriage, arms profiteering, and unjust wars in the Mid-East — but opposing Israeli brutality (even if by a cowardly abstention in a UN vote) is not a sin. Or, maybe it is, being that our nation’s leaders chose silence rather than outright condemning the Israeli occupation as it ought to have.
