Nevertheless, beginning with Carter in 1980, every US President (including Reagan) has granted China “Most Favored Nation” trade status. Nor was it rescinded in 1989, under G. W. Bush, when the Communists massacred about a thousand peaceful protesters in Tiananmen Square. Clinton promised to revoke that status during his 1992 campaign, but he lied. No sooner did he take office in January when he approved of China’s favored status. I gather that a promise to continue this policy must be a sine qua non offering that the American emperor, David Rockefeller, requires of every presidential candidate who comes before his majesty with a “for sale” sign hanging around his neck. (Doesn’t appear likely that Rockefeller will be accepting any more obeisances in person, not at ninety-seven.) After all, when it comes to POTUS in my lifetime, it’s all been about money and power and the means to those ends. Justice? No, Sir. Pragmatism rules the age and it was born in the USA.
CatholicOnline: Human rights group Women’s Rights Without Frontiers have learned that a Chinese woman was beaten and had her child forcibly aborted at seven months of pregnancy in Shanxi Province, China. In a nauseating twist, these “officials” took a photograph of the woman lying in bed with her aborted child lying at her side. Read more about this here.
