I just read an interesting anecdote on the Friends of Chesterton website. One day, before his conversion, Orestes Brownson was perusing through some Catholic literature in a bookstore, when in comes the great scholar Daniel Webster. Seeing one of the Catholic books in his hand, Webster warned him saying, “Take care how you examine the Catholic Church, unless you are willing to become a Catholic, for Catholic doctrines are logical.” You can read more here.
