Kenya is almost 24% Catholic and about 47% Protestant. Although everyone knows about its world dominance in marathon running, most people do not know that it is a Christian nation. It is the seventh most populated country in Africa with about 44 million people. The industrious Kenyan faithful would surely make their country a Catholic nation if the native clergy, religious, and laymen would preach the Faith “from the housetops” and evangelize not only the many varieties of Protestants there but the Moslems as well. The harvest appears to be ripe for the picking.
Catholic Online: Currently only 13 percent of the national grid is powered by this renewable energy. Near the town of Naivasha, KenGen Drilling Superintendent Isaac Kirimi declares the starkness of a nearby landscape. “This is like a live volcano! You can easily convince someone you’re in hell,” he said. KenGen is Kenya’s leading power company.
Kirimi notes that the surrounding rocks underfoot are still soft. He’s in search of a small bushy plant known as geothermal grass, which thrives in high ground temperatures. Read full report here.
