Head of Italian Senate Praises Pope for Courage in “Facing the Wolves”

In an address organized by the Congregation of the Children of the Immaculate Conception, Senate President Renato Schifani noted that the day after his election Pope Benedict asked for prayers that God might give him strength to confront “the wolves.”

CNA reports: The Holy Father has “never been inert in the face of suffering and injustice,” the President of the Italian Senate said as he reflected on the impact of the five years of Benedict XVI’s time as Pope.
