Holy Ghost Flower

According to the Facebook posting below, the pictured flower is a member of the orchid species, and it is called “Flower of the Holy Spirit.” It starts blooming during the Pentecostal cycle of the liturgical year. Before it blooms, it looks like monks at prayer, but when it blooms, it looks like a hovering dove.

Poking around the internet a bit more it appears that what is pictured below are really the Egret Orchid, not the Holy Spirit Orchid.

They’re both amazing!
