May 30 is the feast day of Saint Emmelia. She is the daughter of Saint Macrina the Elder who was a disciple of Saint Gregory the Wonder Worker (Thaumaturgus). Her husband was a saint, Basil the Elder. They were parents of five saints: Basil the Great (Doctor of the Church), Gregory of Nyssa, Micrina the Younger, Peter of Sebaste, and Theosebia the deaconess.
