‘It Is a Dangerous Time. Pray for Us’ (A Cardinal Elector)

Robert Moynihan doesn’t identify the cardinal with whom he spoke informally the day before the conclave, no doubt at the prelate’s request. Curiously, the cardinal was very open about criticizing Benedict XVI for resigning the Petrine office.

“He never should have left his office. It is like a man and a woman, a husband and wife, a mother and father in relation to their children . . . ‘until death do us part!’ They stay together always.” Read more of this Moynihan Letter here.`
