Retired president Father David M. O’Connell, recently consecrated Bishop of Trenton, NJ, will not like the fact that his successor, John H. Garvey, dean of Boston College Law School, was a three-time financial contributor (public record has $1750 total) for the pro-abortion Kerry campaign in 2002-2004. Garvey, however, is opposed to abortion, it seems “so much so” that Massachusetts Citizens for Life in its congratulatory bulletin to its members noted that “[Garvey] has made available the beautiful facilities of the Law School for CFL Board meetings and Conventions. He addressed our Conventions the last two years. People are still quoting his recent presentation on conscience rights.” Catholic activist John O’Gorman has sent out emails publicizing this information.
