Mexico: Submerged Church Built in 1564 Resurfaces Due to Drought

The Weather Channel: The Temple of Santiago was built in 1564 in southern Mexico’s Chiapas state, according to Huffington Post. When a devastating plague gripped the area from 1773 to 1776, the church was abandoned, the report said.

Then, in 1966, a reservoir was created after the completion of a dam, the report added, and the church was put under water for good.
