I remember when this story came out five years ago. Like scores of other similar fantasies that get posted on the Internet, especially on Spirit Daily website, this was not true. The poor boy has just come out and admitted he made the whole thing up. See admission here. Publisher, Tyndale House, has pulled the book, The Boy Who Came Back From Heaven.
Yet others proliferate. Non-Catholics bouncing up to heaven through the clouds, seeing the nirvana-inducing “white light” and the angels, and then dropping back down to reanimate their bodies and spread the happy news. One of the Spirit Daily fantasy stories involved that of a lukewarm Catholic sky-diver who “died” after a deadly parachute failure, came back to life, and is now an evangelical minister. And Spirit Daily has no problem with that. What do you expect from a Medjugorjie promoter?
None of these delusionaries (I mean those who really are delusional) has claimed to see Our Lord or Our Lady. It is always “a light” or “angels.” And none of the ones I have read about have experienced anything but sweet peace at their “death.” So, they come back to earth. They say — again, I do not question their honesty. I have no reason to doubt their sincerity. But, I certainly doubt, indeed by Faith I deny, that they came to their particular judgment. This judgment is not a sweet encounter except for the saints who die in the true Faith and in the state of grace. No mention of any fear of hell for the sinners, or purgatory for the faithful in need of temporal purgation.
No, just a beautiful “light” and angels and sweet music.
This is from the devil. It does not coincide with the real experiences of death recorded by those whose accounts have been registered in the Lives of Saints. None of these imagined “peaceful light” fantasies mention facing Jesus as Judge. “Real” as some of them may seem to those who seem to have died, they are just wanderings of the mind, and for those who claim to have died and come back to life without any “fear and trembling” (Phil.2:12) and a call for penance for their sins and heresies, it’s all satanic hogwash.
