That’s 600,000 Israeli citizens living in over 130 settlements on confiscated Palestinian land. Palestinians for decades now have been terrorized out of their homes or had them bulldozed. There are about 6.5 million Palestinian refugees scattered about the world, but most of them are in Lebanon and Jordan. Where there are refugees, there is violent injustice causing it. That ought to be obvious to anyone with common sense. In this ongoing war of occupation the ratio of fatalities has been ten to one, ten Palestinians killed to every one Israeli. These are civilian casualties.
AsiaNews: “This position cannot come from someone seeking peace.” Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit has condemned the claim to the legitimacy of the settlements reiterated by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which excluded the possibility of an Israeli withdrawal from the occupied West Bank.
“This is our land,” Netanyahu declared yesterday, “We came back here to stay there once and for all. We will not eradicate more settlements from the land of Israel. ” More here.
