One of the weirdest organizations I have ever read about, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals kills (“euthanizes”) 95 % of the domesticated animals they take in, which they are supposed to be providing friendly owners for. That is what they get donations for. But, it’s easier for them to put the animals to sleep, saves them money, and enables the leaders of the organization to maintain their huge salaries. They also readily admit to supporting terrorists who are willing to use bombs to promote their cause.
This is their official statement on abortion: PETA does not have a position on the abortion issue, because our focus as an organization is the alleviation of the suffering inflicted on nonhuman animals. There are people on both sides of the abortion issue in the animal rights movement, just as there are people on both sides of animal rights issues in the pro-life movement. And just as the pro-life movement has no official position on animal rights, neither does the animal rights movement have an official position on abortion. There’s more here.
