AsiaNews: The death toll so far from a series of bomb attacks that struck Baghdad yesterday is 29 dead and 80 people injured. At present there are no official claims for yesterday’s attacks, but – in recent times – these terrorist acts are often the work of the Islamic state.
The jihadist group, which conquered large parts of Iraq and neighboring Syria and founded a so-called “Caliphate”, have stepped up attacks against security forces and the government with a Shiite majority, in the context of an increasing offensive in the north and west. More on this here.
