Saint Jane Frances de Chantal (1641)

In her early years, Jane Frances Fremyot married the Baron de Chantal. After his death, under the spiritual guidance of Saint Francis de Sales, she founded the Sisters of the Visitation, one of the greatest Orders of nuns in the Catholic Church. This was in the year 1610. At the time of her death there were eighty-six convents of this Order in France alone. Saint Francis de Sales called Saint Jane Frances de Chantal “the perfect woman.” One of the great admirers and supporters of Saint Jane Frances de Chantal was Saint Vincent de Paul.
