What was Raif Badawi accused of? Opposition to a religion of violence that needed a sword to propagate its blasphemy against the One True God in His Triune Unity of Persons? Who is this God of the Mohammedans? They do not know! He (or it) is “too great.” “Too great” for what? To have a Son in Eternity? To become a Child in time? Yes, says Islam, God is “too great” for either.
On the contrary God is an Eternal Spirit who knows and loves Himself. What else could any spirit be if it has not these two vital activities? By necessity, God the Eternal Spirit must be a Father, a Begetter, or He is not a Living Eternal God. Moslems put God beyond the creature’s reason; so why did God create intelligent beings with the faculty of thinking? Did He need adorers? Certainly not. So, if He is “too great,” why adore Him? He is above all that. Why should God care what we do? Why did He create anything? Why angels? Why men?
God did need Another, a Son, co-equal with Himself, in order to be Infinite Wisdom; for Wisdom is a Generated Word. (Even the Greek thinkers before Christ, and long before Mohammed, knew from natural reason that there must be an uncreated “word”, the pattern of all created things.) And such a Word, and Such a Begetter of the Word, needed a Person eternally expressed by their mutual Love. Why did God give man an intellect if intelligent creatures are useless in understanding, by the analogy of created spirit, the Life of God?
What is Life in God to a Mohammedan? How does God “Live” without the vital activity of Knowing and Loving Himself? How can there be an Infinite, Eternal Life without a Generation of the Eternal Thought and an Expression of the Mutual Love of Thought and Thinker. If there is no Generation in God, then, O Mohammedan, what is Life in God? Tell the world. Tell the angels and, please, tell men. Or at least try to. It’s only fair. Of course, I am being rhetorical. Mohammedans cannot answer this question. They will admit that they cannot. In fact, I would assume that they would consider it a blasphemy to attempt an answer. That is why they call their religion “Islam.” Islam means “submission.” That is it, just submit. Allah does not need, or shall I say, want, your love, He just “wants” your submission.
Christianity has an answer about the Life in God. The answer comes from the revelation of Christ in its fullness. Everything God created reflects the Threeness of the Creator. There is no such thing as a one, or two, dimensional reality. It defies reason; it is unreasonable; because it cannot be even thought of as an existing reality. Even the immaterial angels have three spiritual dimensions: the knower, the known, and the knowing. Jesus Christ, the Son of God made Flesh, revealed this Divine Trinity in God, which, prior to His revelation, was beyond reason. But, now having been explicitly revealed (it was implicit in the Old Testament), reason sees its reasonableness.
So, bring out the whips. Scourge this “blasphemer”. Shut him up in prison for seven years. Yes, that’ll work.
AsiaNews: A court in Jeddah sentenced blogger and activist Raif Badawi to ten years in prison and 1,000 lashes for setting up a “liberal” network and insulting Islam.
Arrested last June, Badawi was initially given seven years in jail and 600 lashes. However, an appeals court overturned the ruling and ordered a retrial. Later, on 15 April, the court ordered Badawi’s networkpermanently shut down.
On 7 May 2012, the network Badawi co-founded with another activist, Suad al-Shammari, had called for an end to the dominance of religion over public life in the kingdom. Read more here.
