Vietnam Hero Father Capodanno to Be Honored With Mass at National Shrine

Reading ab0ut this fearless Maryknoll Navy chaplain fills one with astonishment.  The servant of God was awarded posthumously the Purple Heart for giving his life to protect a wounded Marine.

CNA reports: Servant of God Fr. Vincent Capodanno, a U.S. Navy chaplain whose heroic ministry to U.S. Marines in Vietnam won him the nickname “the Grunt Padre” and a posthumous Congressional Medal of Honor, will be remembered with a Mass at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception on the evening of September 3.  Read more here.
