Vietnamese Police Beat Hundreds of Catholics at Church Site

This is but the latest attempt by the Communist government to thwart efforts by Catholic priests to reclaim Church property — in this case a church badly damaged in 1968 during the war — confiscated by the government.

CNA reports: .- On Monday morning Vietnamese police in the Diocese of Vinh brutally beat hundreds of Catholics who were erecting a cross and building an altar on the ground of a church that collapsed during the Vietnam War. Dozens of Catholics were arrested in the clash.  Read more here.
