Auxiliary Bishop of Newark Assaulted During Mass

I had thought I posted this outrage in the News section of our website. Apparently, I did not. It happened three weeks ago. The Mass was for the Latino Catholic community. Roberto Clemente was also being honored. May he rest in peace. He was a great Catholic baseball star (my generation would pay big bucks, or “duke” the foolhardy pretenders, for his baseball card) who died on a mission of mercy to succor earthquake victims in the 1972 quake that hit Nicaragua.

Tap Into Newark, Mark Bonamo: A day meant to venerate a hero of Newark’s Latino community ended in shock and horror when an auxiliary bishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark was punched in the face during Mass at Newark’s Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart. Story is here. Video footage is here.
