The following is a press statement of the Catholic Action League of Massachusetts…
ON September 16th, Dave Urbanski, Senior Editor at Blaze News, contacted the Catholic Action League of Massachusetts, seeking a comment from Executive Director C. J. Doyle regarding the case of Sophie Kutzko, the 17 year old daughter of a Catholic family who was separated from her parents by the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families, reportedly because the parents would not consent to a so-called gender transition.
In response to Dave Urbanski’s inquiry, C. J. Doyle issued the following statement:
“The Massachusetts Department of Children and Families is an unelected and unaccountable government bureaucracy with a long and disreputable history of arbitrary, autocratic and authoritarian behavior, hostile to both parental rights and religious freedom.
In December of 2024, the DCF seized custody of then 15 year old Sophie Kutzko, separating her from her parents and family, holding her, effectively, incommunicado, and preventing her parents and her brother from having any contact with her.
Sophie’s parents and brother have not spoken with her for 21 months.
According to press reports, Sophie was placed in a boys’ dormitory, denied access to Mass and the Sacraments, and was forced to ingest various psychiatric drugs, along with birth control pills.
All of this was because her parents refused to affirm and participate in the delusion that Sophie could change her gender—a delusion first implanted by a second state actor, Algonquin Regional High School, which concealed its life altering transition strategy from Sophie’s parents.
Now, the DCF is seeking to administer dangerous, high dose testosterone to this helpless, frightened and isolated young girl.
This is nothing less than state sponsored kidnapping and government inflicted child abuse.
It is a direct assault, by rogue state actors, on parental authority, family integrity, and constitutionally protected religious liberty.
Sophie should not only be returned to her parents, but there should be civil and criminal penalties for such misconduct by government agents.
Article 41 of the Constitution of the Republic of Ireland contains a provision which America would do well to adopt.
The State recognises the Family as the natural primary and fundamental unit group of Society, and as a moral institution possessing inalienable and imprescriptible rights, antecedent and superior to all positive law.
A society which cedes control of its children to the state is one that is no longer free, but is a culture descending into totalitarianism.”
C.J. Doyle’s remarks will be included in a forthcoming story on Blaze News. Doyle was also interviewed on this topic by Reporter Chris Robinson of American Family Radio.
