Earth Day Came and Went April 22 and No One Even Told Me

I remember what a big deal earth day was in the 70s. It was headline news every year back then. Everyone was planting a tree to save the earth. My high school economics teacher was convinced that in twenty years, even with birth control, earthlings would have to be sent off to the moon or to Mars for humankind to survive. I am not exaggerating. This is exactly what he was telling us in class. He also attacked Humanae Vitae. And he was far from the most liberal teacher in our Irish Christian run high school.
