CNA: While discussing civil marriage and cohabitation, the German bishops emphasize that “a further development of the Church’s sexual morals” is needed. “This entails an enhanced appreciation of individuals’ ability to shape their lives in following Christ on their own responsibility and to form a personal conscience-based judgment.” That puts it very clearly where the bishops conference stands.
