I had never seen the quote from Saint Basil. Mystery is, with at least two Novus Ordo popes opposed to it, why do we still have Communion in the hand in all the western rite parish churches?

My 9-year old son, Michael, has recently taken up the habit of kneeling for communion and receiving the holy sacrament on the tongue in the traditional Catholic and Anglican manner.
