Yes, he wants to “study” the issues and set a “commission.” For the Irish Church. Seems that he has forgotten that the Church in Ireland is Roman Catholic. Haven’t the bishops in Ireland more important things to do, like public penance, and educating the baptized in the Faith they rejected in their “Yes” to sodomite “marriage”?
The Irish Catholic: Bishop Leo O’Reilly has said he is “liaising” with other bishops with a view to setting up a commission to discuss the possibility of ordaining married men to the priesthood as well as appointing female deacons. [“Appointing?” deacons. Deacons are “ordained” not appointed. And this careless abuse of language coming from a Catholic paper?]
Bishop O’Reilly is making the proposal as a result of a 10-month listening process in his Kilmore diocese which led to a diocesan assembly and a new diocesan pastoral plan to tackle challenges facing the Church, including a declining number of priests. More here.
