After posting this news item from Aid to the Church in Need I came across a much more in depth article on The Stream website written by John Zmirak. Zmirak interviewed an intelligence operative with 20 years experience in the Moslem world. This man estimates that 20,000 Christians have been slain in Nigeria in the past three years. See this article here.
Aid to Church in Need: “PLEASE DON’T make the same mistake as was made with the genocide in Rwanda. It happened under our noses, but no one stopped it. And we know well how that ended.”
These are the words of Bishop William Amove Avenya of the Diocese of Gboko, in Benue State, Nigeria, where Christians form the majority of the population.
