California Catholic news has a good article explaining the facts about the recent case where a Catholic sister gave her approval for an abortion to save the pregnant mother’s life. Bishop Olmsted of Phoenix was very clear in explaining the Church’s immovable position based on Catholic ethics. He said: “An unborn child is not a disease. While medical professionals should certainly try to save a pregnant mother’s life, the means by which they do it can never be by directly killing her unborn child.
