I was a seminarian at Saint Michael’s from 1971-1974. Father Parker was a brilliant man and extremely efficient. So was his fellow Hungarian assistant, Father Szanto. When I visited him in 1980 and told him about Saint Benedict Center, Father Feeney, and Extra Ecclesiam nulla salus, he said something to this effect: Yes, this is an ex cathedra doctrine, but “they” won’t let you teach it, especially since Vatican II. I was still in my 20s at the time and did not want to push the issue with a venerable priest whom I did esteem.
