Cheney and the Neocon’s war on Iraq, at Israel’s instigation, wasn’t enough. Afghanistan wasn’t enough. Almost 4500 American soldiers were killed in Iraq, over 33,000 wounded (some estimates have it at over 100,000 wounded). Iraqis killed after US invasion from whatever cause is over one and a half million. 2000 American casualties in Afghanistan. Perhaps 10,000 wounded. And for what?Who benefited from this chaos and bloodshed?
God only knows what will happen in the much more volatile nation of Iran and what other countries will be drawn into the conflict. How many more brainwashed soldiers will march to kill and be killed for nothing. Just as there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq so, too, there is no evidence that Iran is building or intends to build an atomic bomb. If Iran was able to produce such a bomb, it would be national suicide for them to even flaunt it never mind use it. But, no, Israel insists there be “preemptive strikes” and what the Israeli war machine wants, the US government will provide, at the expense of the lives of US soldiers. God help us.
CatholicOnline: Despite international warning, Iran is continuing to enrich uranium for its civilian nuclear program. The West believes that Tehran’s true objective is to build an atomic bomb.
